TBG 53: Premier League Wrap Up & Our One Year Anniversary!

Wow! With this Premier League wrap up episode, we have officially been producing The Brewtiful Game show for a year. Thank you so much to everyone that has been listening along the way. We love doing the show for you all, and we look forward to sharing the next year with you, as well. (Correction: due to a typo on show notes, we stated Liverpool was third and Manchester City was fourth. That should have been the other way around. Sorry. We were excited to celebrate our one year milestone.)

Now, on to the new episode. For our year anniversary, we go with the same topic our first show covered. We wrap up our thoughts on another fun Premier League season. We pick our top highlights, and see how we did with the predictions we made. The tally of our fantasy league is discussed, and we see who the winners and losers are.

Ferris brought the beer, and in honor of the anniversary, picked the three different beers we had for our very first episode. A sentimental and delicious choice.

That wasn't the only beer consumed in this episode. Blake and Ferris had a bet about weather Manchester United or Arsenal would end up higher than the other. Ferris lost this bet, and had to drink a strange concoction of a beer float made with Moo Thunder.

A bizarre beer float went to the person whose team finished the lowest on the table.

Ferris looks at what his poorly placed bet has wrought him.

We are back to talk English Premier League, and to mourn the loss of Sunderland as they officially hit the relegation zone. MLS and NWSL happenings are also on the menu. There is also a look at what the Orlando Pride need to do so they get back to winning ways.

Ron brings in a beer from a great brewery: Hoppy Table Beer from Allagash Brewing Company. His journey to get this beer up in North Carolina also leads to a crazy origin story of the South of the Border tourist trap on the border of North and South Carolina.

TBG 50: Big Week of Soccer | Premier League Matchday 34 | MLS Week 8 | NWSL Week 2 | El Clásico

A lot has happened since the last show. We talk El Clásico, newly promoted Premier League clubs, Premier League Matchday 34, MLS, NWSL, and how sad Ferris is about the Zlatan Ibrahimović news.

Ron and Ferris bring the beer to review. A Brewtiful benefactor helps Ron present us with one of the rarest and highest rated beers in the world. It did not disappoint. The Trappist Westvleteren XII was probably the best beer any of us have every had. If you don't this crew of soccer and beer gabbers can be quiet, just listen to what happens we take our first sip of this heavenly quad ale. (A big thank you to Sarah, for bringing this beer back from your European trip and sharing it with us.)

Once we move on from FA Cup and Premier League discussions, Ferris presented the second beer review of the show. In honor of El Clásico, he chose tasty lager from Barcelona.

Ron is back in the studio with Blake and Ferris bringing a great beer pick for the show. We talk Champions League, Premier League, MLS, and the kickoff of the NWSL season. Topics discussed include Real Madrid getting lucky on no off-sides calls agains Bayern Munich, great MLS goals scored by NYCFC's David Villa and Orlando City SC's Will Johnson, the NWSL losing one of its stars to injury, and Manchester United's huge victory over Chelsea.
